MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Sunday July 31st
Christopher Potvin Day at Dodd Stadium

This is the 25th year for the Christopher Potvin Scholar/Athlete Fund. To date $287,000 in scholarships have been awarded to deserving high school seniors to assist in furthering their education.

I know Christopher would be proud of the effort put into this scholarship in his memory over the years. I am confident that a special (sold out) day at Dodd Stadium “can happen”. An SRO crowd would indicate to me that people, students, and the community are saying “thank you, let’s continue for another 25 years”.

At this game we will honor the memory of Jack McDonald, a local resident, well known sports figure, and high school game official. Jack’s family will be in attendance for presentations along with members of the Umpire/Football Associations. Jack was a huge supporter of the Fund, umpiring many baseball games for the memorial tournament.

We will be presenting 25 scholarships (one for each year) prior to the start of the Connecticut Tigers game.

Please help make this special 25th Anniversary Christopher Potvin Scholarship Day an occasion to let everyone involved throughout the years know how grateful Chris’ family is in helping keep his memory alive.

The Potvin family thanks the management at Dodd Stadium who arrange for us to play tournament games there. They have been one of the greatest supporters over the years. Mr Potvin has received hundreds e-mails and phone calls from teams and players, informing him of the great experience it was for them to play at Dodd.
